Nic grew up in the beautiful Down East region of North Carolina’s Outer Banks, where Emerald Isle quickly became his lifelong surf haven. A dedicated waterman, Nic has surfed extensively along the East Coast, across the Hawaiian Islands, and in destinations around the globe. Driven by a passion for the ocean and the thrill of the next challenge, he continues to push his limits in surfing and other marine pursuits.

Nic holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He brings over 20 years of teaching experience in diverse fields, including high school science and marine water survival. His deep-rooted love for the ocean also fuels his interests in scuba diving and marine conservation.

A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Nic served three combat tours in Iraq and has held multiple instructional roles within the Corps, including Drill Instructor, Marksmanship Instructor, Water Survival Instructor, and Formal Schools Instructor. His military background is matched by an impressive array of civilian qualifications, including:

Surfer, big wave bodyboarder, and freediver, Cameryn is an all-around waterman through and through. A local to Emerald Isle and the North Carolina coast for over 30 years, he knows how to pick the best waves for any set of conditions. From teaching beginners the basics to leading advanced swell-chasing missions, Cameryn offers expert guidance and a deep understanding of East Coast surfing at every level.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Cameryn brings discipline, experience, and a safety-first mindset to every session in the water. His extensive training ensures both fun and safety, whether you’re just getting started or pushing your limits.

Business Manager

Anastasia was born in Ukraine and adopted at a young age, growing up in New Mexico, where she lived for over 20 years before relocating to coastal North Carolina. Her love for the outdoors and the ocean continues to grow as she embraces new adventures.

Anastasia holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Physical Education and Health from the University of New Mexico. She spent several years as a dedicated educator, teaching middle and high school PE and health, and also has experience as a certified medical assistant. Her passion for wellness, movement, and helping others shines through in both her teaching and personal pursuits.

With a growing enthusiasm for surfing and outdoor sports, Anastasia finds joy in sharing new experiences with others while continuing to learn herself. Her approachable style and strong background in health and physical education make her a natural fit for leading and inspiring others in active, outdoor settings.

Social Media Manager

At 28 years old, Kasey brings a love for the ocean, a heart for people, and a passion for safety and teaching to the RWS Surf team. As a longtime local of Swansboro and Emerald Isle, she’s spent the last 18 years living just steps from the water—and a lifetime surfing, bodyboarding, and scuba diving in it.

She’s also a proud Marine Corps child and spouse, and a busy mom of four boys. Her background includes education and certification as a North Carolina and Nationally Registered EMT, recreation director of multiple youth camps in California and Florida, youth director at Radiant Church in Tampa, Florida, high school track coach, and event planner.

Now, she uses all that energy and experience to share the RWS Surf story—bringing our beach community to life online with engaging content, helpful tips, and a big dose of stoke.
